False Eyelashes
False eyelashes, otherwise known as “falsies” are the newest and latest trends. Many people like to use false eyelashes to help enhance and open their eyes up to appear larger or more cat eye like in photos. According to Allure eyelash guide, “the look of endless, fluttery lashes aren’t going out of style any time soon.”
There are different kinds of lashes, such as individual lashes, strip lashes, mink lashes, and eyelash extensions. I will briefly go over what these lashes are and how they can be applied or worn.
Individual lashes: These lashes are cut up versions of strip lashes, they are put on the eyelashes one by one. This gives off a more natural lash look for your eyes.
Strip lashes: These lashes are a whole bunch of individual lashes, glued in clusters on one band. This makes for an easy application. This style of lash comes in either mink or faux hair and you can either achieve a dramatic or butterfly look.
Mink lashes: These lashes are made from real hair, and usually last longer in terms of wear. Mink lashes can last up to 20 wears, as for strips and individual lashes can last up to 3-5 times. Mink lashes are usually glued on a tougher band.
Eyelash extensions: These type of lashes can’t be put on by yourself. These are semi permanent lashes that you get done with a beauty esthetician. These lashes are glued on each lash and last up to 2-3 weeks without having to remove them. These are harder to manage because you can’t get them wet within the first 24 hours of getting them done, and after that you want to make sure you thoroughly wash them, as bacteria can start to grow.
