Oily Skin

Oily Skin = Breakouts?!

A photo of my skin when I had major breakouts.

Now if you read about my dry skin post, you would see that having dry skin can and seems painful. But what about oily skin? I currently have oily skin myself, and getting a taste of both worlds, I don’t mind being oily. Although having oily skin comes with it’s perks, you have to be able to manage it correctly. Having oily skin is known to clog pores. As you can see in my picture above, my skin is still plump and moisturized, but you can see that there are blemishes all on my cheek. Here, I’ll list some of my tips and tricks I do to help tone it down.

First things first: Make sure to get a cleanser that is meant for combo or oily skin. It usually says it on the front of the bottle. Don’t use anything like a cream or foaming cleanser, as that can add more oil into your pores. The face wash I like to use

You can purchase it here: https://www.kiehls.com/skincare/cleansers-and-scrubs/ultra-facial-cleanser/3605970024192.html?GeoRedirectOff&gclid=CjwKCAjwkun1BRAIEiwA2mJRWRYFW0OTCN3Y55ECqqb5-bmRYacUIDqzXBGcRu8BrKZta1CrxeiL1xoC-k0QAvD_BwE

Second: You want to make sure you tone your face. This is a step many people like to skip because they don’t see any significant changes, but most of the time, that’s because they don’t know which toner to chose from. The one I like to use is from Mario Bedescu.

You can purchase it here: https://www.mariobadescu.com/product/glycolic-acid-toner?gclid=CjwKCAjwkun1BRAIEiwA2mJRWelwszh-9kPbti3XLB6miBgDlS2QPzhOTpl0S9gPOy28TN62WyYNfxoCLcAQAvD_BwE

Third: You want to apply a vitamin C serum. Vitamin C toner helps eliminate and brighten dark spots on your skin. The one that I use, helps fade away dark spots and really makes my skin nice and plump.

You can purchase it here: https://www.sephora.com/product/ole-henriksen-banana-bright-vitamin-c-serum-P456566?skuId=2347219&om_mmc=ppc-GG_1165716884_53825924060_aud-764261818486:pla-473613404567_2347219_257731949003_9032181_c&country_switch=us&lang=en&ds_rl=1261471&gclid=CjwKCAjwkun1BRAIEiwA2mJRWeFtpT-vz42wzWLzXl6lHjyw05zWY2qi8dbkdxP2OvpNmB567OCurxoCrDoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Last: You still want to keep your skin moisturized, as a toner can be a little too harsh and really dry out your skin. Even though you have oily skin, you still want to keep some moisture in it for throughout the day and especially in the winter time. The one I use, is specifically meant for people who have naturally oily skin.
